Terms of Service
Welcome to DevLaws. By accessing or using our developer platform, early-access waitlist, GitHub integrations, Model Context Protocol (MCP) server, and associated cloud APIs (collectively, the "Platform" or "Services"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). Please read them carefully.
1. Account Registration & Credentials
To access certain features of the Platform, you must register by linking a third-party authentication provider (Google or GitHub). You agree to:
- Maintain the confidentiality of your session cookies, generated API keys, and access tokens.
- Promptly notify us at support@devlaws.xyz if you suspect any unauthorized access or compromise of your credentials.
- Accept full responsibility for all activities, integrations, and configurations (e.g., cloud credentials) set up under your account.
2. Use License & Intellectual Property
Subject to these Terms, DevLaws grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access the Platform and run our engineering law rulesets in your local development environment or CI/CD pipelines.
Under this license, you may not:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the core scanning algorithms or proprietary AI prompting pipelines of DevLaws.
- Sublicense, lease, or resell the catalog of standard engineering laws or custom rulesets as a standalone product.
- Use any automated scrapers or bots to harvest content from the handbook without explicit written authorization.
3. Code Analysis, Diffs & Ownership
Our Platform audits code diffs to enforce engineering standards. You retain all right, title, and interest in and to your codebase, including all intellectual property rights therein. By connecting your repositories:
- You grant DevLaws a transient, non-exclusive license to analyze your code diffs and repository structures solely for the purpose of identifying protocol violations and rendering feedback.
- You acknowledge that code diffs processed during pull request checks are analyzed transiently and are never used to train public LLM models.
4. Cloud Integrations & Third-Party Services
The Platform allows you to link cloud providers (such as AWS, GCP, Vercel, and GitHub). You acknowledge that:
- Any connection to third-party services is governed solely by the terms and permissions configured by you on those providers.
- DevLaws is not responsible for any issues, downtime, API limit adjustments, or service charges incurred on your linked third-party accounts.
5. Waitlist, Subscription Plans & Enterprise Trials
DevLaws may offer waitlist reservations, individual subscription tiers, and limited-time Enterprise trials:
- Enterprise Trials: Users who activate an Enterprise trial using a valid activation key will receive 90 days of guaranteed access to premium compliance checks, decoupled from any subsequent key expiration.
- Fair Use: We reserve the right to temporarily suspend or rate-limit accounts that generate excessive API traffic or abuse the compliance checking engine.
6. Disclaimers & Technical Integrity
While we design and verify our compliance checks according to the highest industry standards, the Platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. DevLaws makes no warranties, expressed or implied, regarding the absolute error-free nature of the code audits or rule recommendations. You remain responsible for reviewing and merging all pull request changes.
7. Limitation of Liability
In no event shall DevLaws, its founders, or affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages (including loss of code, data, profits, or system downtime) arising out of or in connection with your use or inability to use the Platform, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
8. Continuous Refinement & Changes to Terms
We continuously update our compliance protocols. We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time by posting the updated version on this page and changing the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
